MAX Conflict Management was established by Mark Wingfield in 2006. We started delivering self defence for businesses who saw MAX as a fun but practical form of team building. We gained a reputation for detailed practical responses to difficult situations using a wide variety of tools including in Six Sigma process excellence to help minimise conflict - through the fine tuning of customer-facing processes and training staff in better communication skills.
We learnt how to help individuals adapt their behavioural styles and developed our self defence to provide honest simple and effective techniques - as a last resort, providing plenty of other alternatives to defuse or escape from a situation before it gets ohysical.

In 2008 MAX travelled to Germany to train and be certified by the great Bill Kipp in FAST Defence training which is often incorporated into bespoke packages. This has been applied very successfully across a range of industries and applications:
- To restore the confidence of Lone Workers assaulted at work
- To prepare charity staff for abusive and violent confrontations
- For women having suffered domestic abuse
- To boost the confidence of academic staff to handle learners assertively
- A full children's range of options are available from the age of seven, covering bullying, handling predators, sexual bullying, cyber bullying and peer pressure. Kids learn how to stand up for themselves without being aggressive.
Our mantra is to provide something practical - and although we often deal with some grim subject matter, we like to enjoy ourselves too, so be prepared to have FUN!

We keep abreast of the latest in communications and best personnel practice through our affiliate membership of the CIPD.
We are a core member of the
Anti Bullying Alliance and support its aims and values. MAX also supports the Learning About Safety by Experiencing Risk (LASER) Alliance.
